This bag is lovingly handmade in our atelier in Mtwara, where women are given the opportunity to learn the craft. The print was chosen for the way the repeating arches and intricate patterns remind us of the ornate carved doors and mosaic floors of the old Swahili palaces along the East African coast — a celebration of centuries of artistry and craftsmanship.
