Amani means 'peace' in Swahili, and this radiant beach bag brings a sense of calm and joy wherever you go. With her vibrant kitenge print in yellow, purple, blue and green, Amani captures the lively spirit of the Tanzanian coast — the golden sunshine, the deep ocean, the lush greenery, and the rich purple of a tropical sunset.

This bag is lovingly handmade in our atelier in Mtwara, where women are given the opportunity to learn the craft. Mama Fatuma chose this print because the bright yellow reminds her of the warm morning sun rising over the Indian Ocean, filling the day with hope and energy. The mix of purple, blue and green reflects the ever-changing colors of the sea and the surrounding nature she grew up with.
