Zawadi means 'gift' in Swahili, and this beach bag is a gift of bold colour and African artistry. Her vibrant red background is decorated with dramatic black swirls, delicate white outlines and warm brown patterns dotted with cream spots. The result is a striking, playful print full of movement and contrast.
This bag is lovingly handmade in our atelier in Mtwara, where women are given the opportunity to learn the craft. Mama Rehema chose this print because the red and black swirls reminded her of the kanga her grandmother gave her on her wedding day, a gift she still wears on special occasions. Each Zawadi bag is made with care and precision, celebrating the creativity of the women behind Nguvu.
